In the Fall of November 2004 we took a long weekend trip to Big Bear, a mountain town in California. A beautiful place where we finally got a chance to get outdoors and do some hiking. After years in San Diego we rarely see rain, and never snow. So ‘surprised’ is an understatement when the girls and I woke up the morning we were supposed to leave to discover a winter wonderland outside our window! The first snow of the season in them thar parts…two feet deep! When Christina exitedly woke dad up with the news he thought for sure we were pulling his leg. Even though we weren’t prepared as far as clothing it was great fun and very beautiful. The girls had a blast and Christina finally got to make her first snow angel (barely since it was so deep). We thought we’d be snowed in, but we nervously and cautiously made it out of town that day and now have a new set of fond family memories.
